The King of Beasts, Kaido, is one of the Yonko of the New World in One Piece, and also the man who is known as the 'strongest creature in the world'. Boasting an enormously bounty of 4.6 billion berries, Kaido is feared across the world as a pirate whose cruelty knows no bounds. Being a Yonko, there are few who can stand up to the might of this man, let alone defeat him.

The number of people who can actually beat Kaido is incredibly small, but believe it or not, there are more than a dozen characters who can take on the world's strongest creature.

15 Dracule Mihawk Is The World's Strongest Swordsman
The Seven Warlords enjoyed a variety of perks, but now that they have been abolished, Dracule Mihawk is once again a wanted man. Mihawk is the man who trained Zoro during the timeskip, and he is still considered to be the greatest swordsman in the world.
He possesses unparalleled skill with every type of blade, and his eyesight is exceptional. He wields a large curved black sword called, Yoru, and it is one of the twelve strongest swords in the world. Zoro was able to injure Kaido in his dragon form, and if Zoro can hurt Kaido, Mihawk can do even more damage since he can use Observation and Armament Haki.
14 Kizaru Has The Power Of Light On His Side
Kizaru is by no means one of the series' most wholesome characters, but he is considered to be one of the strongest. As an Admiral, Kizaru's strength should be on par with a Yonko's, or Yonko Commander's, but in a fight against Kaido, his Devil Fruit would be the deciding factor.

The Glint-Glint Fruit gives Kizaru the ability to create and transform into light. The fruit also allows him to move at the speed of light, so it will be very difficult for Kaido to hit him, and he can fire explosive beams of light that can pierce through flesh.
13 Silvers Rayleigh Was The Pirate King's Right Hand
Silvers Rayleigh is also known as the "Dark King", and he was the first mate and right hand of Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King. Rayleigh is the man who taught Luffy how to use Haki, and he has mastered all three forms himself.
When he was younger, he only needed on finger to stop an attack from Marco the Phoenix. Rayleigh is an old man now, but he is still strong enough to successfully clash with a Marine Admiral. It may be difficult for Rayleigh to beat Kaido as he is now, but if he was in his prime, Kaido would certainly lose.
12 Monkey D. Luffy Has Awakened Advanced Conqueror's Haki
The Captain of the Strawhat Pirates, Luffy is the man known as the Fifth Yonko of the Sea. With a bounty of 1.5 billion, Luffy is already a fearsome pirate. When compared to Kaido, Luffy is, in no way, an equal to him yet. However, Luffy aims to take down Kaido at Wano Country, and when he says something, he certainly does it.
Luffy has already lost to Kaido twice, but these losses occurred when Luffy did not know how to use an advanced form of Conqueror's Haki. He can now useConqueror's Haki to greatly enhance his arms and legs, to the point that he can now fight Kaido on equal footing.
11 Akainu Possesses Incredible Offensive Power
As the current Fleet Admiral of the Marines, Akainu is, without a doubt, one of the strongest characters in the entire series. With the Magma-Magma Fruit, Akainu can manipulate and turn into Lava as he likes.
According to Oda, his Devil Fruit boasts the offensive power of the highest class. That, along with his top-tier haki, gives him a strong footing against Kaido. Of course, defeating Kaido will likely be an uphill task for Akainu, but tenacious as he is, there is a possibility that he'll pull it off.
10 Sengoku Reached The Rank Of Fleet Admiral
The former Fleet Admiral of the Marines, Sengoku is a man of many talents. Apart from his incredible strength, he is also a shrewd man, known for his sneaky tactics. Sengoku is one of the legends of the One Piece world, having history against the likes of Whitebeard and Roger.

As such, there's no reason why he shouldn't be able to defeat Kaido in a fight. Just like Kaido, Sengoku has eaten a Mythical Zoan type of Devil Fruit. His Haki also seems to be immensely refined, and in a fight against Kaido, he would certainly not back down easily.
9 Kong Is The World Government's Commander-In-Chief
Kong has barely received any screen time, but he is one of the strongest characters alive. He served as Fleet Admiral when the Roger Pirates were at the height of their power, and he is now the World Government's Commander-in-Chief.
No one knows if Kong possesses a Devil Fruit, but seeing as he was once Fleet Admiral, it is safe to assume that his Haki is extremely powerful. Kong is a legendary figure like Roger, Sengoku, and Rayleigh, and if they can fight Kaido, he can too.
8 Monkey D. Garp Is Considered To Be One Of The Strongest Marines
Also renowned as 'Garp The Hero' and 'Garp The Fist', Monkey D. Garp is a Vice-Admiral of the Marines. Being their strongest known member in history, there's no denying that Garp is capable of taking on Kaido.
He's previously fought against the likes of Rocks, and even Gol D. Roger. Garp doesn't use Devil Fruit powers, making him a completely Haki based fighter. Although he may not be able to defeat him as he is now, in his prime, Garp would certainly prove to be more than a challenge for Kaido.
7 Monkey D. Dragon Is Luffy's Father & The World's Most Wanted Criminal
The son of Garp, Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army in One Piece, and also the worst criminal in history, according to the World Government. Although much of Dragon's strength remains unknown, the fact that he's managed to challenge the Government head-on and even give them a hard time implies that Dragon is very powerful.
His commander, Sabo, was capable of holding his own against an Admiral without any apparent trouble. Dragon was the one who trained Sabo, which means that he is at least Admiral/Yonko level.
6 Shanks & Kaido Have Clashed Once Before
Akin to Kaido, Shanks is one of the Yonko of the Sea. According to Brannew, Shanks is the youngest of the Yonko, having been given the title about six years prior to the current timeline. Like Dragon, most of Shanks' strength remains shrouded in mystery. It is speculated that Shanks uses just Haki to defeat his opponents, and that's an incredible feat for a Yonko.

Whether Shanks can defeat Kaido or not is unknown, but he is certainly on par with Kaido, if not stronger. Interestingly, the two have already fought once in the New World, and Shanks emerged unscathed at Marineford after the fight.
5 Big Mom & Kaido Are Essentially Equals
The Queen of Totto Land, Charlotte Linlin, also known as Big Mom, is also one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. As the Captain of the Big Mom Pirates, she possesses incredible strength, enough to have earned her a bounty of 4.3 billion berries.
The two share a past related to Rocks, so they've likely fought each other back in the day. Recently, they clashed at Wano, only to stalemate even after fighting continuously for 13 hours. If they do go all-out, Big Mom could potentially defeat Kaido just as much as he could defeat her.
4 Blackbeard Possesses Two Of The World's Strongest Devil Fruits
The Admiral of the Blackbeard Pirates, Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, is likely the main antagonist of the entire One Piece series. He holds tremendous powers which saw him rise to the status of a Yonko during the two-year time-skip.
Blackbeard wields two Devil Fruit powers which include the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, and the Dark-Dark Fruit. Claiming to be the strongest in the world, Blackbeard has a good chance of taking down Kaido in a fight. The Tremor-Tremor Fruit can cause Kaido a great deal of internal damage, and if he uses any of his dragon form's elemental attacks, Blackbeard can absorb them with the Dark-Dark Fruit.
3 Whitebeard Was On Par With Roger In Terms Of Strength
The pirate known as the strongest man in the world, Whitebeard is the only man who is known to be able to match Roger in combat. According to Garp, he is the 'King of the Seas', while Sengoku refers to him as the 'man with the power to destroy the world'.
Even in his old age, Whitebeard was capable of destroying Marineford all by himself. This act would have defeated thousands of Marines in the process, including a few Vice-Admirals, and probably at least one Admiral. In his prime, Whitebeard would've been a monster in combat. When he was in his prime, Whitebeard was able to to toe-to-toe with Roger, so Kaido wouldn't have given him much trouble.
2 Rocks D. Xebec Was Extremely Powerful & He Was Kaido's Captain
When they were younger, Kaido, Big Mom, and Whitebeard were all part of the Rocks Pirates, and they were all commanded by Rocks D. Xebec. Rocks rose to power 40 years before Roger became Pirate King, and he was a vicious individual who wanted to rule the entire world.

The full extent of Rocks' strength is unknown, but seeing as he was able to command a crew of extremely powerful pirates, it is safe to assume that he was ferociously strong. It took the combined strength of Roger and Garp to take him down, so fighting just Kaido should be easy by comparison.
1 When He Was Alive, Gol D. Roger Was The Strongest Man In The World
The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger was once the strongest man in the entire world, boasting a bounty higher than 5.5 billion berries. Roger could possibly beat any character in the series. Although he isn't alive right now, he did clash with Kaido at God Valley where the Rocks crew was annihilated.
Arduous as it may be, it is expected of the Pirate King to be able to take on Kaido without much trouble. Roger wielded Ace, a cutlass which is deemed to be one of thetwelve Supreme Grade Swords, and it is believed that he used Haki as his primary weapon of choice, just like Shanks.
